A visit to Sanzen-in Temple, Ohara, Kyoto

A visit to Ohara and Sanzen-in temple, made on October 4th 2021.
The Ohara area is the birthplace of Shoryo (Buddhist sutra chanting) and is known as a sacred spot. Sanzen-in Temple was originally established as a hermitage by Saicho (767-822). It was officially named Sanzen-in in 1871, following the departure of an imperial prince priest from the priesthood.
We had a matcha tea with a sweet in the temple watching Shuheki-en Garden... great tea time and good meditation.
